Wise for Christ’s Sake – already in the glory

The Corinthian Christians lived in an unreal world… they lived like if they were already in the glory… But this time Paul does not rebuke them…

Who does not regard you as superior? And what do you have that you received? And if you did not receive it why don't you boast as if you truly had not received it?

You are already filled – so am I. You have already become rich – so had I. You have become kings together with us, and I would indeed that as kings we might reign together.

For, I think, God has exhibited us apostles first of all, as men who live the best life, because we have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men. We are wise for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ, too. We are strong, but you are strong, too. You are distinguished, but we are not without honour either. To this very hour we are neither hungry nor thirsty, and are well clothed, well respected, and even own a beautiful home! We run our own business, having others working for us. When we are blessed, we boast; when we are on committee meetings, we endure them. We love those who speak well of us, for we have been made as the treasure of the world, the cream of all things until now.

I write these thing that you might not be ashamed, my beloved children…

Isn't Christianity the greatest religion?
