Jesus said long time ago, "You received without paying, give without pay" (Matt. 10:8).

When you read it in context, he talks about the empowering miracles of God:

Matt. 10:7 "And preach as you go, saying, `The kingdom of heaven is at hand.' 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying, give without pay."

Indeed, the biblical education was not free at all. It cost me many thousands of dollars to obtain a degree not mentioning the numerous books I bought amounting to thousands of dollars. Take into account the years invested in full time study and unpaid ministry while I could have earned hundreds of thousands of dollars, but I didn't. Thus, I did not receive it freely, it was extremely costly. It cost as much as a house.
